Bloody Mary History

The origins of the Bloody Mary cocktail are unclear, but it is believed to have originated in the 1920s or 1930s. One famous story credits a bartender named Fernand Petiot at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City with creating the drink in the 1920s. Petiot later claimed to have refined the recipe while working at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris in the 1930s. The drink became popular in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. It is typically made with vodka, tomato juice, and various spices and seasonings. The exact recipe and ingredients can vary depending on the individual or establishment.
